Welcome to week 5!
Your content is divided into two segments:
- C# Programming and,
- MICT SETA unit standard outcomes and assessments
In your C# programming component, you will focus on the use of arrays and loops.
In the SETA content you will focus on how computer system inputs and outputs are designed.
Computers do not “think” neither are they “intelligent”. The purported intelligence of a computer comes from programs that are known as software. Examples of software include, Microsoft Office Word, Photoshop, etc. It is from this software that we derive use from the computers.
Without software (programs) the computer is just a piece of useless hardware.
The programs that we “run” on our computer systems take input, which they process to get output. The input allowed by a software must be of an acceptable type i.e., words or numbers. The software will manipulate the input using a certain criterion to obtain output.
When processing our input, we “store” it in computer memory. This memory is divided into arrays which are special storage. There may be need to reuse the values that are stored in arrays. To enable this reuse, arrays allow a mechanism called looping (effected by loops) to manipulate the values and reuse them.
Enjoy and have a blast!
